Ohio’s Fourth Coronavirus Case Is The First Of “Community Spread”

A fourth person in Ohio has tested positive for coronavirus.

Health officials say the 53-year-old Stark County man is the state’s first patient to catch the virus through “community spread” meaning officials cannot point to a clear source from which the person contracted the disease.

Twenty-four people are being monitored for symptoms because of possible exposure. Another 21 have tested negative for coronavirus.

Governor DeWine said on Wednesday that in the next several days his office will be issuing orders that will limit mass gatherings.

He also said that schools may need to be closed if the coronavirus continues to spread across Ohio.

DeWine says if he is forced to close schools, he’ll work with legislators to waive state testing requirements for students.
