Before I get into any introductions of who I am, I just want to say thank you so much for clicking on this page and deciding to read this post. That was a very adventurous decision you made, and I'm extremely happy you did!
Okay...so who is this girl named Carla you're listening to on WKXA from 10am to 3pm?I was born in Toledo and have lived all but three months of my life in Northwest Ohio (everyone needs their "Los Angeles phase"...fortunately mine only lasted May-August of 2008). I graduated from Bowling Green State University with a Bachelor's Degree in Telecommunications and Film Studies and went on to study at Specs Howard School of Media Arts in Southfield Michigan, obtaining a degree in Broadcast Media Arts. During the hour and a half commute from Toledo to Southfield, I would listen to the radio and analyze the different personalities on air. I thought (and still think) they had the coolest job in the world. I knew I always wanted to work in broadcasting, but when I had the chance to listen to all the different personalities on air and hear how much fun there were having , I knew that's the direction I wanted to go in.Besides my love of radio, I'm also extremely passionate about dogs (I have a Miniature Schnauzer named Joel), my record collection (if you need to give rid of your vinyl records, send them my way!), and food (I'll never turn down a cheeseburger and fries). I try to travel as much as I can, even if it's just to a town an hour from where I live. I love local stores and restaurants, so I'm always willing to try out a new place and go off the beaten path.
So that's me, working in an industry I'm crazy about, hoping to make your day more entertaining. Being able to interact with you, the listener, is something I love to do, so the next time you see WKXA out in the community, feel free to say hi, I'd love to meet you!
