The Story Behind “Too Pretty For Prison”
Miranda Lambert has a new album coming out this Fall! Miranda isn’t giving away too many details about the album, but she is talking about one of the songs she says will be a “standout” from the others. It’s called “Too Pretty For Prison”, and it’s got quite a story, one that involves Maren Morris and Karen Fairchild.
According to Miranda, the song title started as a joke between friends. “We were having a wine night, and I always tell all of my friends leaving, ‘Don’t leave if you’ve been drinking, because you’re too pretty for prison,” Lambert explains. One of those friends was Karen Fairchild from Little Big Town, who decided to take Miranda’s advice and call for a ride home. “So, thanks Karen, for sharing that wine bottle with me and for taking an Uber.”
Maren Morris will add vocals to this song, which Miranda describes as a “girl anthem”.
Hopefully we’ll get a chance to see all three women perform this song live in the near future!
